Removable Perches Removing the perches helps to deter large birds while still attracting clingers.
The Squirrel Buster Classic's four perches attract birds who need a solid surface to land on. However, if you only want to attract clinging birds to your feeder, the perches are easily removed. Large birds, such as Doves and Grackles will avoid the Squirrel Buster Classic once the perches are removed, and clingers, like chickadees and nuthatches can still feed comfortably. To remove the perches, simply slide a flat-head screwdriver in between the perch grip, and gently 
pry the perch off. Perches can be easily replaced by sliding them over the wire shroud. You may need to use pliers to re-close the perch grip when reattaching them.
